The Company Leaders Initiate Numerous Programs To Lessen The Costs Related To Work Related Injuries, Increasing Absenteeism, Poor Employee Work Performance, Excessive Sick Days, and Employee Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism

Heather is a sixty-three-year-old woman who is the director of the human resources department at a large brass molding company. To help decrease the costs associated with work related injuries, increasing absenteeism, employee alcohol abuse and alcoholism, poor employee work performance, and excessive sick days, Heather and the other members of top management implemented quite a few programs that made the work environment substantially more safe, more productive, and healthy.

For instance, fifteen years ago Heather and the other members of upper management established an Employee’s Assistance Program so that all the workers had access to top shelf psychological counseling for their personal problems that could harm their personal well-being, health, and their work performance.

Top Management Constructs a Technologically Advanced Exercise and Workout Room Complete With Weights, Exercise Equipment, a Professional Trainer During Business Hours, Exercise Charts, Mirrors, and Scales

As another illustration, about seven years ago Heather and the other company leaders assembled a new exercise and workout room complete with exercise charts, scales, many different types of exercise equipment, weights, a personal trainer during business hours, and mirrors.

Moreover, about three-and-a-half years ago Heather and the other VIPs invested in a purification system that filters all the water that is accessible throughout the building complex. Similarly, two-and-a-half years ago, Heather and the other VIPs started a “walking club” that caters to employees who want to learn how to boost their cardiovascular system.

Upper Management Establishes a Weight-Watchers Class and Signs Up a Weight-Loss Healthcare Professional to Manage the Program

As another example, just about two-and-a-half years ago, Heather and the other company executives implemented a “Weight-Watchers” class that at this moment in time meets every weekday at 4:30 PM until 5:50 PM. Moreover, top management signed up a weight-loss nurse to supervise the program.

In a similar manner, a year ago Heather and the other company leaders launched a “Stop Smoking Club” for employers who want to stop smoking.

In the last nine months, in a joint venture with the Employee’s Assistance Program, Heather and the other VIPs implemented an “Anger Management” class for workers who want to learn how to better control their temper.

The Company Leaders Institute An Alcohol and Drug Testing Program

In the last five months, Heather and the other VIPs launched a drug and alcohol testing program that is linked with their drug and alcohol abuse prevention program. In actual fact, Heather is the key person in the company responsible for getting the message out to all the employees about the drug and alcohol testing program as well as the drug and alcohol abuse prevention program.

One of the essential components of the drug and alcohol abuse prevention program is a class entitled “Alcoholism and Depression” that meets every Tuesday after work. The main idea with this class is informing workers that abusive drinking and depression regularly happen in the same person. It is hoped that realizing this information will be able to help an individual address both medical problems and get the alcohol rehabilitation and mental health counseling he or she needs.

The VIPs Launch an Alcohol Statistics and Facts Class

Another fairly recent addition to the drug and alcohol abuse prevention program is a class entitled “Alcohol Statistics and Facts.” The reasoning behind this alcohol statistics and facts class is the reality that quite a few individuals fail to appreciate the total impact of the effects of alcohol abuse and alcoholism without first hearing about some of the alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction statistics and facts that are available. As a result, one of the goals of this class is to provide a range of alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction statistics and facts to help employees gain a better understanding of the plethora of problems that are related to excessive and hazardous drinking and how they can prevent these difficulties from transpiring.

Most recently, Heather and the other company leaders, by way of feedback from workers, started a class that centers directly on acute drinking entitled “What is Alcoholism”? This what is alcoholism class meets every Thursday morning an hour before work and focuses predominantly on the differences between alcohol abuse and alcoholism and the types of counseling that are available for individuals who drink in a hazardous manner.

Even though every single one of these preventative maintenance and health programs was not inexpensive, the company administrators feel that they are many thousands of dollars ahead by providing all of their workers with a more productive, healthy, and safe work environment.
